We got news from Packer head coach Matt LaFleur today on left tackle Elgton Jenkins’s status for Sunday against the 49ers, and it appears there might be another new name at the position.
LaFleur said Jenkins has been listed as doubtful with an ankle injury he sustained in the Monday night win over Detroit. Jenkins has not practiced all week.
That side of the line will be tasked with blocking Nick Bosa, already with three sacks this season. While LaFleur only said “we have a plan” when asked who might be at the left tackle spot should Jenkins not be able to play, we can assume Billy Turner will likely occupy that spot. Turner is currently playing at the right tackle spot, so Dennis Kelly would step in to cover the right tackle spot should Turner need to be shifted over. Yosh Nijman could also be an option at left tackle if the Packers want to keep Turner on the right side.
